This workshop prepares you to use AWS data sources with SPRE/SAS and SAS Viya/CAS. Topics include the AWS Eco system, AWS Storage S3, AWS RDS Databases, AWS Redshift, AWS Athena, Snowflake database, and connecting SAS and CAS to AWS data sources. This workshop provides practical hands-on exercises to fortify the workshop material.

Learn How To

  • Access a SAS-managed AWS environment
  • Create a persistence volume and a persistence volume claim to an NFS Server file system
  • Configure SAS Viya environment for AWS data sources, including AWS Access Key and SAS Access Clients components
  • Create an AWS S3 storage bucket and load sample data into it.
  • Connect to AWS S3 Storage, RDS database, Redshift cluster, Athena database, and Snowflake from SAS compute Server and CAS
  • Read and write Parquet data files from SAS compute Server and CAS to S3 storage
  • Create an AWS RDS database and read and write data from the SAS compute Server and CAS to the AWS RDS database
  • Create an AWS Redshift Cluster and read and write data from SAS compute Server and CAS to the AWS Redshift database
